Browse eventsThis policy explains how Lurexo collects, uses, and protects your information. We've written it plainly so you know exactly where your data goes and what you can do about it.
Under UK GDPR, we process your personal data on the following legal grounds:
The primary basis for most of our data processing. When you purchase a ticket or create an account, we process your data to fulfil that contract — including ticket delivery, payment processing, account management, and maintaining your ticket records. Because this processing is necessary to perform our service, certain data cannot be deleted while your contractual relationship with us is active.
Fraud prevention, platform security, analytics to improve our services, and customer support — where these do not override your rights.
Marketing communications and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Tax compliance, responding to lawful legal requests, and enforcing our legal rights.
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
When you purchase tickets, we share necessary information with event organisers — including your name, email, and ticket details — for entry verification and event-related communications. This is a core part of how Lurexo works: organisers have direct access to their attendee data.
Under Article 28 of UK GDPR, event organisers who receive your personal data through Lurexo are bound by strict obligations. They may only use your data for the purpose for which it was shared (administering the event you purchased tickets for). They may not use it for unrelated marketing, sell it to third parties, or retain it beyond what is necessary. Lurexo requires all organisers to agree to these obligations before accessing attendee data.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users.
We never sell your data. Your personal information is never sold to third parties for marketing purposes.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:
Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information at any time.
Limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
You have the right to object to our use of your behavioural and transactional data at any time. While we collect and use this data without requiring your upfront consent (on the basis of legitimate interests), you can object to this processing by contacting privacy@lurexo.co.uk. We will review your objection and stop processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.
Withdraw consent for marketing or optional data processing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@lurexo.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
We use a soft opt-in approach to marketing. If you purchase tickets or create an account, we may send you relevant event recommendations, platform updates, and promotional offers by email — because you have an existing relationship with us and our communications are relevant to your use of the platform.
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Opting out of marketing will not affect transactional communications such as order confirmations or event updates.
Lurexo uses AI to power features including event recommendations, fraud detection, and dynamic ticket security. To train and improve these features, we use aggregated and anonymised behavioural and transactional data from across our platform. This means your purchase history, browsing behaviour, and ticket activity may contribute — in anonymised form — to improving how our AI systems work. We do not use your identifiable personal data to train AI models shared with third parties.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
While we take every reasonable precaution, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:
After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised. Some data may be retained longer if required for legal proceedings or regulatory obligations.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep our platform working and to improve your experience. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Required for core platform functionality — cannot be disabled.
Analytics and site optimisation to help us understand how the platform is used.
Remember your preferences and settings across sessions.
Used for personalised content — only with your explicit consent.
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK — including the United States — where our cloud infrastructure and service providers operate.
We ensure adequate protection through:
Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@lurexo.co.uk.
For users aged 13–17, parental consent may be required depending on your location. Some events may have age restrictions set by organisers.
